At Sea Chest Consignments, we owe our success to the dedication of our volunteers. If not for the help of these hardworking and kindhearted individuals, it would not be possible for us to carry out our mission of making a difference in the lives of others in our community.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of working with people from many areas in MA, including Cohasset, Hingham, Scituate, Marshfield, Duxbury, Norwell, Rockland, Hull, Braintree, Quincy, East Bridgewater, and Kingston. Currently, approximately 90 full-time and part-time volunteers run our shop.
How It Works
We have 2 three-hour shifts from Mondays to Saturdays and a three-hour shift on Sunday afternoons. The tasks of those assigned to the morning shift (10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) range from desk sales to consigning clothes and bric-a-brac in the backroom.
Those who are part of the afternoon shift (1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.), along with the Saturday and Sunday shifts, primarily work in sales and stock organization.
Helping Others Is What We're All About
While our volunteers do every imaginable job for our shop, their hardest job is selecting suitable candidates for consideration of fund distributions.
Each year, after careful deliberation, they vote on which organization(s) will receive the proceeds. This is a task near and dear to the volunteers.
New volunteers are always welcome at our shop! If you are interested in joining our team, call us today at 781-383-2293.
